Lack Of Sleep. Tips To Improve Your Sleep - [UPDATED 2021]

TeeDee67 said:
Hi @Lewanna , I just noticed your stats are almost identical to mine. I am 173cm and 105kgs and want to get to 75kgs.. ha..
I am on day 5 and the sleep has settled right down.. i am usually a night owl anyway.. but I think because my body is burning so much and the metabolism has been boosted that I am actually getting tired about 10pm and sleeping well now.. without any aids at all. I also am waking feeling refreshed, which is something new.. I usually wake still tired and I haven't had the headaches..yet.. touch wood.. !! Lol... and I got on the scales this morning after doing 4 complete days and was surprised to see I am now 101.2kgs.. lost 3.4 in 4 days.. I am sure it'll settle down.. but pretty chuffed at the moment. Hey all the best and I really find these forums really helpful, TeeDee67.

This is great news! I’ll see how I’m sleeping after a few days!

Hi,
I'm new to this page and this is my 3rd day on Duromine 30mg. After about 40 minutes of taking them, I get a really cruisey feeling, kind of like a tranquil, peaceful feeling then after about another 15 minutes I get tired, I just want to sleep. There is no speedy feeling or energy burst wanting to get out there and do things like a lot of others say. I have had a bit of dizziness and my blood pressure was all over the place but seems to have settled now

I have changed my diet to vege, fruit and lean meat, Im up to about 3 litres of water each day and I'm using an exercycle for exercise.(I was a heavy drinker of RTDs but have stopped all alcohol completely while taking these tablets).

I really want to give these tablets a massive chance to help me lose weight. So.. please is there anyone who has had this side effect that can give me some advice?

Thanks (in advance)

Hello and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear that you feel fatigue instead of energy. You might need to stop Duromine for a couple of days, and then restart it. Or try taking it every other day instead of every day. Either your body responds incorrectly to the drug action, or the dose is too high and you’re in a mild overdose (which causes tiredness).

Best of luck! Please, let us know how you go.

Hi,
Just letting you know that I have stopped taking these tablets because during that 3rd night I had a pain through both breasts and also something which felt like a weight pressing down on my chest. Although that was not painful, it did stress me out a bit.

Since I stopped taking these, everything has returned to normal except for my eating pattern. I refuse to let those 3 full days go to waste so am trying to keep my food healthy and at a less amount.

Thank you for responding to my question, it was greatly appreciated.

I’m so sorry you had to go through this horrible side effects attack. Thank God you’re clever and stopped taking the pills immediately. AND you’re bravo to keep the healthy eating habits! If you wish, you can continue posting your weight loss journey here, on the forum. We welcome all people, who are changing their weight and life, with or without Duromine. Either way, best of luck!

I’m the same. I get the weird shattered side effect but I’m exhausted. (Sleeping 11 hour nights)

Try to go KETO (low carb) there’s a lot of Facebook groups for recipes and tips :) have a look. Aim for 20grams of carbs or less a day.

Cardio will be your best friend. Quickest way to shed is cardio. Eg step machine, tread, row, eliptical. With a lot of cardio you may not notice the kg dropping, but you will physically look skinner. I’d recommend measurements over scales. Good luck.

Day 3 for me on 30g. No side effects yet, was hoping for the energy boost but still nothing. Guess I can be grateful that I'm not experiencing any major side effects.

I have an 8 month old son (pic for cuteness), and he is busy teething so he isn't sleeping through the night. When I woke up at about 02:30 I had a headache that spanned over my entire head (never had this before), went back to sleep hoping my body would take care of the headache. When I woke again at 06:30 it was still there. I took a pain killer with about 500ml of water and the pain was gone, just in time before my son woke up.

Not going to exercise this first week, I first want to see how my body reacts to the pills.

Still hoping for that energy boost!

Staying with family at the moment while my husband is busy with contract work. Hoping to start a Keto lifestyle as of October. I've seen some amazing results of people eating the Keto way.

Awwwww... thank you so much for sharing this lovely photo! What a precious little boy you have!
So, you have a plan and sounds like a good one!
As for the headaches, yes, unfortunately these are possible on Duromine. And i think that both "remedies" helped you get rid of the pain - the painkiller and the 500 ml of water. Duromine can cause dehydration, and that's the reason why we tell every Duromine beginner to increase their daily water intake.
Hope this was the first and the last headache on Duromine. Have a great day!

Hello,

I’ve been on Duro 30mg for three days now (early days) and I knew that insomnia could be a problem. I have fallen asleep fine, just a little later then usual (about 11:30pm). Unfortunately, both nights I have woken up only after a few hours; 4:30am the first day and 3:30am the second day. I am wide awake when I wake up and cannot fall asleep at all. I obviously know that 4-5 hours sleep a night isn’t great for the body.

Has anyone experienced this? Does Duromine peak after a certain amount of hours even after sleep?

Each morning I have taken Duromine at 5am (with the aim of going back to sleep for a couple more hours) as to avoid the insomnia. Any tips?
Thank you!

Hey mchillies
this is normal, in fact it happened to me this morning :p
i went to bed fine at 10pm and i woke up at 3am and i can't go back to sleep,
having said that, i have had the most Roller Coaster of a week at work,
and in my experience with duromine our state of mind plays a huge role in how this wonderful drug works :)

i also didn't exercise yesterday and i wasn't drinking enough water!
that was my own fault and i should practice what i preach on this forum lol
these things are so important when taking duromine..

also try skipping a day here and there, it's an old trick but it works,
you will find that on the 'days off' you will still have the magic that duromine gives you.

stay positive
Hugs
Dre

Hi Dre,

Thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate it! I’m glad to know that others have experienced this too. Hmm, I definitely agree that the last couple of days I haven’t had as much exercise that I usually do. My usual job as a teacher has now become working from home- I guess sitting in front of a computer screen for hours isn’t so great for burning that energy
A big workout today it is! I’ll give a go to the day off every now and then too :)

Take care,

Mchillies

When I started duromine, I had a few days of strong insomnia. Hard to fall asleep, slept lightly, woke easy and couldn’t go back to sleep.

I adapted a bit by either deliberately going to bed quite late (so no ‘lying awake unable to sleep and now it’s been hours and I’m going insane’) or washing up and as soon as a felt a bit tired, going right then to ‘catch the moment’. I found I needed white noise more than I used to, as sounds that normally wouldn’t bother me now did.

It did pass. I found that after a week or so, I was sleeping mostly like I used to. I wouldn’t feel tired as early as I used to (which was good) and if I took my pill at 6am I could generally roll over and go back to sleep for up to 4 hours before it forced me to wake. Obviously, not on work days. ;) But sleeping in or taking the pill early and going back to sleep is a good way to skip ‘the hungries’ before the suppressant kicks in.

The ‘cool down effect’ that occurs after you exit a hot shower or bath is very powerfully effective for me. It is a narrow window of time where, as your body cools, it naturally gets very sleepy. No downers required.

Just don’t wait too long or you’ll miss that sweet spot. Or engage in conversation with people as that might rev your brain up. ^_^

When I started Duromine, I needed a little more help than usual. White noise such as rain or waves does nothing for me but ASMR (check it out on YouTube) was a godsend. Everyone is a little different, but that knocks me out cold in under ten minutes every time.

Today I was prescribed 30mg I will most likely start not tomorrow but the next day! How fast should I expect results? I am really stressing about my sleep though! Is it definite that I won't sleep or have a bad nights sleep as I have a bad sleeping baby as it is :laughing::laughing:

Hey minime,

Congratulations on starting your weight loss journey! :innocent:Do not be afraid of insomnia, as not all people experience this or other side effects.
Usually, you can see the first results by the end of the first month. However, if you're staying active and try to eat clean, get ready to see the changes much faster.;)

Look forward to read about your progress:sun:

The first night you will probably be a zombie and awake pretty much all night. If you do sleep it won't be anywhere near as long as a normal nights sleep.

Yesterday was my first day on duromine, everything was going good! No side effects all day, took it at 6am. But then, I was up all night and only got to sleep at 9am this morning, I suffer with insomnia, anxiety and depression - I'm on meds for it including sleeping tablets which usually knock me out. Last night they did NOTHING! So I was awake for over 24 hours, only got 3 hours sleep, woke up sick with the flu or something. Body aches, sore throat and stuffed up nose and head. So this morning I didn't even take duromine. Can anyone suggest sleeping table/aid that I can get from the chemist that works without a script? Thank you in advance.:heart: - after I stop being so sore and not feeling like crap with this flu I will start duromine again and hopefully have something that will help me sleep!

@2tree How awful for you. Hope you’re feeling better soon.
