Hello! I'm a newbie to Duromine and the forum. I started my Duromine (30mg) journey yesterday as I'd like to drop 20kgs before my wedding next year.

Side effects: Dry mouth and slight constipation

I was wondering if the tab takes a while to kick in as my appetite has not changed at all.

Both side effects are common. However, you should not let constipation last too long. Drink more water, have prunes or prune juice, have a couple of kiwi fruits. If these don’t help, take a laxative.

Duromine does need some time to kick in quite often. 2 to 10 days…

I drink at least 2L of water which could increase to 2.5L on training days. I took some Flax-seed Tablets this morning to help the constipation as I could feel it was going to happen last night.

I look forward to not craving to nibble!

Hello Knelows. Welcome to the forum. We have plenty of information on Duromine, reviews on some of the best diets , and some very useful tips for weight loss. You can check these categories for the info you need. You might get inspired and come up with your own eating and exercising routine, who knows..

General information is:

1. Drink more water and avoid alcohol

2. Have 3 healthy meals a day + 1-3 healthy snacks (depending on the length of your day)

3. Exercise at least 30 minutes, gradually increasing the load (load increase works better than the length increase), and change your exercises every 2 weeks

4. Stay consistent

Hi everyone! I am so inspired by all of your threads. I am waiting for delivery of my first order of D15mg. A friend gave me one 30mg tablet about two months ago and, after taking it I knew right away that it would help me to make the changes I need to lose 20+ kgs. I thought I'd start with 15mg and see how I go. I plan to use D to assist with intermittent fasting 3 days a week, walking and then hopefully eventually running. If I can achieve my goal by Easter I will go on a trip to South America to celebrate! In the meantime, I will be saving money by not spending it all on food and alcohol! #WINNING Now all I need is the delivery :)
 
Welcome skinnymee and may your Duromine journey bring you joy and happiness! =) I wish you that your order arrives quickly and begin your weight loss journey with the same motivated attitude that you came here with. I think that your goal is achievable, so South America is soooo close. =)) While you wait, you can help yourself and print or find a couple of photos of places that you want to visit, and may be a couple of girls that have the body you want to have. Oh yes, and you also can work on your menu and plan your exercising routine. So, when Duromine arrives, you’re armed and ready to go! =)
 
What great advice, April! Thank you so much! I have already cut out alcohol (as of back-to-work-Monday so I am at day 4) which is the main culprit for me putting on the weight in the first place. I promised myself I would do that first - without any help. I started T-25 workouts in my loungeroom with my husband in the mornings before work. The first week is a struggle because my body is both detoxing AND getting used to moving again (oh if only my order was here!) BUT, if I can get started without Duromine then I know I can continue on the same path after I have released the weight. I can't wait to have the energy to really nail these workouts - so far just going through the motions. There are 3 sets of DVDs (Alpha - Beta - Gamma) So, once I start the Duromine I plan to nail the gamma workouts before work, go for a walk at lunchtime and do stretching after work. I am also looking forward to tackling all those things around the home that I have been putting off because I haven't had the energy.

My diet, for the most part, is pretty good: low carb, unprocessed, fresh and organic ...however, I am looking forward to the portion sizes coming down once I commence my first course of Duromine. I started intermittent fasting (Mondays and Wednesdays). Two days a week keeps my weight constant but I really need to do at least three days a week to see weight loss. Unfortunately, I just can't seem to face that without Duromine, so I will do my best with what I can do now until it arrives. I have a Pintrest Album of all the places I want to go and I even have my leave approved -- so, you're right, it's a matter of staying focused until my order arrives :)
 
Oh wow! So many achievements already! Congrats on cutting alcohol. You’re bravo! And the workouts – you’re tough! =) Thanks Lord that your husband is so supportive and trains together with you. Love the nutrition – everything sounds perfect. Not sure about intermittent fasting while on Duromine, especially in the first 1-2 weeks, when your body will be getting used to it. You might feel pretty bad if you don’t eat while on Duromine. You can use the fasting a little later, when the progress slows down (as it usually does), just to give it another boost. And then use the fasting when you finish the course – to maintain the result. You’re already going, so all I can say is great job and keep up! Cheers!

Finally received my Duromine 15s!! I am super excited. It's 10AM in Sydney already so I will wait until tomorrow to get started. Without Duromine, I managed to give up alcohol (as of 8 Jan) A huge feat for me. This was in anticipation of starting Duromine. Last week we worked out 4 times and it's been twice this week so far but I have also started walking at lunchtime (If you count those as well it's been 6). Unfortunately, all this movement has made me ravenous! I am looking forward to the anticipated energy boost (must use the extra energy to work out 5 days a week - no excuses - afterall it's what you do everyday that matters, right?) and to curb my appetite. Yes!

Hats off to you for giving up alcohol and sticking to the plan and loudest applause for increasing your physical activity. That is HUGE, and it’s quite understandable why you feel so hungry. You see, you need to have a full meal (carbs+proteins+fats) 2 or 3 hours before the training. If it is impossible, you can eat even an hour before the workout. If this is the case, better opt for carb-packed meal with some protein. Your muscles need fuel to recover after the training, and, if you did not provide anything to help them do it, they will ask for FOOOOODDDD!!!!! And you surely should not forget about water. If your weight is 2% less after the workout than the pre-workout weight was, you’re in a serious dehydration, and that is BAD, especially since you’re on Duromine. You can have a meal after the workout within a 1-hour interval, but everything depends on the meal that you had before the workout. So, the heartier was that meal, the smaller the post-workout meal should be. Of course, it should include protein and carbs. Something like meat+veggies on a toast or even a protein shake.

Always keep in mind that you need to fuel your body in a proper way, if you want to lose weight through fat loss, and not the muscle mass. Looking forward to hearing from you. Fingers crossed on no side effects. Cheers!

Biancaturley, how much water are you drinking, if you’re not eating anything or eating very little? Dehydration can cause dizziness and feeling faint.

Duromine can potentially lower your blood pressure slightly which can cause similar symptoms- which drinking more water will help even if you feel you are sufficiently hydrated. You should report the palpitations and pain in your leg along with the dizziness to your GP when you see them next. At the very least they should check your blood pressure.

As Kate pointed out, fruit is high in fructose (sugar). It is impossible to cut all carbohydrates/sugars from your diet and nor should you try to- your body needs a certain amount of complex carbohydrates and simple sugars. Unless you are diabetic hypoglycaemia is unlikely to be your problem.

Having said that, some foods containing carbohydrates/sugar are better than others in the sense that if they also contain fibre, fat and/or protein this will slow the digestion of the sugar and give you a more even release of sugar into your blood stream thus avoiding a “peak” and “fall” that will result in feeling irritable, lethargic, tired, dizzy, etc.

The rate at which sugar is released into the blood stream by foods is referred to as the “glycaemic index”. If drinking more water isn’t your problem, and your blood pressure is normal, then perhaps you could opt for foods that have a low glycaemic index. If you’re interested, I have attached a simple chart that shows what foods are low, medium and high on the glycaemic index scale. Note the section on fruit- some fruits can cause a sugar spike and eventual crash (medium and high glycaemic index) while others are lower and may help your symptoms.

Hi All!
First time taking Duromine after a serious battle with trying to lose any weight :( a few years ago I was at my healthiest at 64kgs , since then the weight has slowly but surely crept back on. I want to feel comfortable and confident again in myself, and have my fingers crossed this will give me the kick start I desperately need. I’m on day 2 of 15mg, didn’t sleep a wink last night :( woke up early today and took pill at 4.30am to hopefully avoid a repeat of last night . Battling a cold as well , so not sure what’s to blame for my headaches and dry mouth - the cold or Duromine .
I love reading everyone else’s journeys !

Finally got a good nights sleep last night!
Still crook , but 1.8kgs down :) no appetite so just eating small meals throughout the day.

Hey everyone!

I started on 30mg Duromine on the 26th of April - very much still a newbie. I was put on Duromine by my doctor after many failed attempts of trying to lose weight. As an Italian with a beautiful big family, I am constantly surrounded by delicious (not so good for me) food. Hence I have found gaining weight to be very easy but losing weight very difficult - like everyone else I suppose. I also have a boyfriend who can eat as much as he wants and not put on a darn kilo - which I'm only 'slightly' jealous of haha.

I measured myself on the scales (after much avoidance of the darn things) and was shocked to see that I had almost hit 80kg. To me, this was completely devastating and really motivated me to push forward on this weight loss journey. 80kg to some people may be their goal weight, but at only 155cm (5'1'') realistically I need to lose at least 20kg.

So far I haven't experienced too many side effects. The only things that I've noticed are:
1. Dry mouth occasionally - which I think is probably a good thing anyway as it's encouraging me to drink more water
2. Restless sleep - but improving (I had 3hrs the first night, and 6hrs the second night. We shall see how tonight pans out haha!)
3. Increased heart rate at really weird times i.e. sitting still or right before I'm going to bed

On a positive note, I'm not experiencing my usual cravings and do not feel the need to eat as much as I would normally. I have a lot more energy and I'm finding a lot easier than expected. I found that a lot of the reviews about Duromine (not on this site but others) are quite negative so I preempted a terrible experience - but I have been pleasantly surprised.

Overall my goal weight is 55kg. I'll be weighing myself and taking measurements each week on a Thursday (random day I know) to track my progress.

If anyone is in a similar experience or has hints/tips to recommend in regards to what you eat and when you eat it please feel free to share! Looking forward to seeing my progress at the end of this journey :)

Hi sar1296 I'm in Australia as well. We seem to so similar. I'm the same height but weighing 80.9kgs. My dr put me on duramine yesterday at 30mgs as well. Took my first tablet at 7.30 this morning and already having headache, dry throat, tiredness and have never gone to the toilet so much even after having 4 kids. I really am hoping that this works and would love any tips as well.
 
The restless nights are a bit of a pain but I found that making sure I take my tablet first thing in the morning does help a bit and also having no caffeine during the day. I did have headaches when I first started but I think these may have also been from my body not getting all the crap I usually give it (like caffeine and sugar) because I just didn’t have any cravings for those things anymore. I started drinking a LOT of water and that seemed to help the headaches (and dry mouth). I lost 20kgs with the help of duromine so don’t be discouraged by the early side effects, your body needs a minute to adjust. As far as tips, get yourself a good eating and exercise plan for when you stop taking the tablets and look for a good kilojoules/calorie tracker. This has really helped me to keep the weight that I lost off (for the most part with a kg up over the holidays) because when you realize the amount of kilojoules that something’s have in them you honestly won’t even want them anymore because they’re just not worth it! It also helped me to get to know what to have when I did want a chocolate or something like that. Best of luck with your weight loss journey!
