Can Your Body Become Immune To Duromine?

Has anyone taken 30mg tablets and successfully had no side effects? I started today and despite an increase in energy and a decrease in appetite I feel ok! Is it likely to stay like this or do u think the further in I get I might get some bad symptoms

You will never know. Today everything's fine, tomorrow - not. But you can do your best to avoid those side effects. Like: make sure your day is totally busy (physically), drink lots of water or fruit tea, eat small portions 4-5 times a day.

Hi
I've only started today so can't give you any advice from personal experience but if I were you, I would go see my doctor and see what they say about it.

It's normal for any weight loss to plateau at some point though, so what dieticians and trainers usually advise is that you need to ramp up the working out, or lower your calories to get things started again. The body gets used to dieting and exercising, so they become less effective. This is actually a good thing as it means you are getting fitter and healthier. I would suggest changing your diet or workout routine and see if that helps.

Good luck.

I totally agree with Kelly. You're in the plateau mode, New Mommy.
The pills are still working, but you probably need to change exercise routine or make a different menu. Just don't quit yet, please. I used to have the same moments during my weight loss journey. But I had to lose hugee amount of weight, so I knew it would take long time for me. Everything will be ok.

Hello everyone:)
A lot of new users seem to be very worried about possible side effects. There are a lot of posts of people who experienced some bad effects but I also know of a lot who had very few or none.
Could you please post what side effects you had the first few days on Duromine?
It may just make new users feel a bit more comfortable and less worried ;)
Personally I only experienced a terrible thirst (which in my opinion is good, forces you to drink lots of water), feeling slightly "high" the first 3 days and after that nothing.
Looking forward to see your remarks.

Negative
Dry mouth (which is also a positive because you drink more water)

Positive
Losing weight
Clothes fit better
Energy to exercise
Way less food cravings
I'm happier, so the whole family is happier;)

no side effects for me, apart from the obvious "it's harder to go to bed early" lol i really love the 'Control' you get on Duromine, snacks and fatty food etc are so much easier to stay away from..

I think I'll join this party too

So...My side effects were as usual - dry mouth (so that time I learned my body to drink enough water and still do)
I remember the first few weeks struggling with faling sleep. But I changed some of my habits and routine and it was fine later.
Oh, also some indigestion maybe...but that was just few times.
Other than that, everything was pretty fine.

Neeext;)

Have the usual dry mouth and don't sleep well but hey it's not forever and at the end of my journey I will be lighter healthier happier and smokin' hot The benefits far outweigh the negatives. T xx

I was a bit unlucky the firs week, but nothing major. Dry mouth, little headache but aspirin took care of that. Worst was moods:mad: - not good! But after the first week it got better and after 2 weeks I was back to normal:laughing:

My first week side effects and how I overcame them:

Dry mouth. - drink water
Headaches. - drink water
Lack of sleep. - take duromine at 4am
Acid reflux. - eat something
Constipation. - drank a cup of coffee. Hammorrhoid flair up. - caused by constipation, used OTC cream.
Emotional breakdown. - sleep deprivation and come down, went away after a few days.
Thrush. - OTC cream.
Diarrhea. - went through the motions, body was detoxing, getting rid of all the yuck!
Feeling COLD, hands and feet in particular. - tried to keep warm. Slept infront of the heater or threw my COLD bits all over my husband until i warmed up.

- it sounds bad, but honestly it is all manageable. I am a mum of 3 young children and lost 4kg in my first week. I am on day 18 and the only thing i still get is acid reflux (i should eat something) or Headaches (i should drink more water).

I think I fall under this category. I am day 4 on D. Sorry have not weighed in as yet will do in 3 days time. My side effects are nothing to what I have read out there. Thirst is the only one - I just drink water. I can hardly eat a thing, its not an ill feeling just a full feeling like I have already eaten. Its wonderful. I would never have believed the human body could feel full on nothing. I do force myself to eat but every time I swallow anything I feel fuller. I woke up at 2am on the first night, at 1.00am the second night and 12am the third night but only to wee and fell right back to sleep - so no insomnia for me, not feeling on a high, no headaches, no extra energy. Just feel like myself beside the thirst and not physically eating. I weigh 70kg, am 156cm tall and am hoping to reach 55kg at the least by the end of the month.

Only side effect I had was a dry mouth, I didn't even lose my appetite or anything. If I didn't exercise at night time it did take a little longer to fall asleep but still slept fine. I am starting again in a week so I am a bit worried that I won't be so lucky again.

Lovely to hear you did not experience any bad side effects. Will help other members to relax about all the horror stories out there. Thank you for sharing:)

I am on duromine 30mg and am almost finished my first month I only have four days left of the packet. I have been prescribed a second month but it seems like already my body has become immune to the tablets as I feel completely normal and my weight loss has come to a stand still. I anyone else finding this or are some weeks just different to others as my appetite is back to normal and I am now sleeping fine.

Hello Brooke :)
It happens, yes I personally had such a decrease of the pills effect. Especially after you've been taking them for a month or so. It is not like your body is getting "immune" to Duromine, I'd say it's more like it got used to your new regimen and lifestyle, but slower weight loss at this point is normal. Please note that you will not lose as much weight as you did at the beginning all the time you're taking the pills. So don't panic yet)) I recommend you to keep thinking positively and stick to your plan like nothing happened. If your doc gives you a break, take it don't worry, just keep chosing the right meals and exercises. Once you start the next pack of pills you will notice the desired lack of appetite and weight loss again, after a while the effect slows down, it's normal.
